Ardud is a town situated in Satu Mare County, Transylvania, Romania. It administers five villages: Ardud-Vii, Baba Novac, Gerăușa, Mădăras and Sărătura.
In Ardud there are two Roma communities: Ardud neighborhood - a compact Roma community placed in the city, and Mădăras - a belonging village to Ardud.
According to municipality, there are about 2 000 Roma living in Ardud, in overcrowded houses, without land or property documents for most of them. They have problems in accessing water, gas or sewerage.
Access to education and health is also very limited while the unemployment rate is high.
ROMACT process started in April 2023 with the signature of the Letter of Agreement.
