Brezoi is a town located in Vâlcea County, Romania. It administrates 8 villages Călinești, Corbu, Drăgănești, Golotreni, Păscoaia, Proieni, Valea lui Stan and Văratica.
Most of the Roma population is living in Valea lui Stan and belongs to the Penticostal church.
220 children are attending school, 15 Roma adults have regular jobs. 70 people are eligible for labor market, had had various professional trainings for carpenter, manicurist, mason but there is no request for this type of jobs in the area. 200 community members have left the city in the last 5 years, and an unknown but important number of them is engaged in circulatory migration, including children.  Despite a school mediator, teachers also have difficulties in maintaining a relation with the parents related to children school attendance.
Community is poorly developed, they started to make some improvements to the houses with the money made abroad. There is poor road infrastructure. There is a gymnasium near the community, 70% of the children attend its courses up to 4th grade, with each grade the number is decreasing by 10%. Only 15% of them finish high school or get a qualification. Garbage collection is an issue given the prohibitive price of this service for the Roma community. Another issue is related to early marriages – starting 12 y.o
