Pancota is a city in Arad county, near the Hungarian boarder. It consists in the town of Pancota (residence), and the village of Maderat.
The Roma community is located on 3 streets on the outskirts of the city of Pancota: Campiei street, Barbu Lautaru street and partially on Extravilan street.
These streets are paved and houses are connected to the drinking water network and the electricity network. However, there is no sewage network for the time being.
An important number of inhabitants are involved in migration due to the lack of jobs in the area.
Other issues are school dropout and a low level of qualification, the poor quality of housing and the lack of property documents as well as the limited amount of available social housing.
ROMACT Process started in September 2023 with the signature of the Letter of Agreement.
The Joint Action Plan for 2024-2027 has been approved by the Local Council in May 2024.
