Comănești is a town in Bacău County, Romania. The town administers two villages, Podei and Vermești.
Thereare several Roma ethnic groups present in Comănești: Caldari, Lingari and Ursari, who are mainly located in Şupan, Carpati and Paraul Sec areas.
In Carpati area, Roma are living in social housing in poor condition, while most houses in the Supan area are without legal status. Streets are extremely narrow and cannot accomodate sewage.
Paraul Sec was built after a flood in 2007. Families were given houses that are now in very bad conditions, without sewage or access to water.
ROMACT Process started in April 2023 with the signature of the Letter of Agreement.
