Tărlungeni is situated in Brasov Metropolitan area, at 10 km from the county capital.
Almost 30% (approximately 650 families) of the population is Roma. Most Roma citizens live in two communities, in Tarlungeni village or in Zizin village.
A third of the population has decent living conditions and access to utilities (at least 2 rooms, with furniture).
The rest lives in precarious conditions, with no running water, electricity, over crowded spaces (6-10 people in one room), in illegal households and in poor health conditions.
There are a high number of early marriages and teen pregnancies.
ROMACT Process started in January 2021 with the signature of the Letter of Agreement.
Local Authorities representatives were trained/coached on:
* Informal settlements & housing policies
* Implementing HCOP projects (Human Capacity Operational Programme)
