Bucharest’s Sector 5 is situated in the south-west of Bucharest towards Giurgiu and Alexandria.  Covering 29 sq km, Sector 5 has some of the most historical areas to be found in Bucharest; it also has the highest poverty rate when compared to other Bucharest sectors.  According to the 2011 census, there are 6,990 Roma in Sector 5, however, data from the General Directorate of Child Protection and Social Assistance for the municipality estimates that there are actually closer to 19,319 Roma citizens in the sector.

 

The ROMACT Process

ROMACT started in September 2016 with the signature of the Letter of Agreement.
