Sfântu Gheorghe is the capital city of Covasna County, Romania. It comprises of Coșeni, Chilieni and Sfântu Gheorghe.
The Roma community in Sfântu Gheorghe is Hungarian-speaking and is mostly located in Őrkő and Ciucului areas.
An important part of the population is unemployed and at risk of poverty and social exclusion. Housing conditions are poor with lack of access to utilities and overpopulation. Many do not have ID and the dropout rate is very high.
Areas where the Roma community is located have really deteriorated infrastructure.
Sfântu Gheorghe is part of the LAG-SEPSI.
ROMACT Process started in June 2023 with the signature of the Letter of Agreement.
