Bicaz is a town in Neamț County, Romania.Six villages are administered by the town: Capșa, Dodeni, Izvoru Alb, Izvoru Muntelui, Potoci and Secu.
Roma are present in 4 different locations in Bicaz: in Cartier Dodeni, Ciment and Marceni in Bicaz city and in the village of Izvorul Muntelui.
The Roma community faces various challenges that require attention. Many of their houses are in poor condition and are in need of rehabilitation.
Additionally, some houses have been constructed in a modern style and offer suitable living conditions. However, a significant number of these modern houses were built without proper construction permits, and some lack the necessary land documents.
Regarding infrastructure, only three main streets in the community have asphalt, while the remaining streets are either paved or consist of gravel.
In recent years, there has been a seasonal migration of community members for work abroad. However, many Roma individuals rely on the Minimum Guaranteed Income for financial support."
Bicaz is part of the Local Action Group GAL - Asociația „GAL Locală Ceahlău.
