Agnita is a town in Sibiu County, Transylvania, central Romania. It administers two villages, namely Coveș and Ruja.
Roma are present in 7 areas in Agnita:
- Floreasca area and "Roma housing in Str. Bisericii 81 in Agnita;
- Zavoi, Pe Lac (informal settlement) and Invierii (informal settlement) in Ruja;
- Crișana (informal settlement) and Banat (informal settlement) in Coveș.
Agnita is part of the Local Action Group Asociația GAL Microregiunea Hârtibaciu.
ROMACT Process started in April 2023 with the signature of the Letter of Agreement.

Local Events
ROMACT organised a local event in Agnita between 14-15 December 2023 to explore the development potential of marginalized communities via traditional crafts which contribute significantly to the community's resources, acting as both cultural treasures and economic assets. The event brought local, county & national authorities at the same table with NGOs, academics & cultural/patrimony institutions, Roma representatives& craftsmen to discuss the opportunities for development of Agnita.
