Urziceni is a town in Ialomița County, located around 60 km north-east of Bucharest.
The unofficial amount of Roma living in Urziceni is about 1160.  The Roma population lives in  4 neighborhoods: Catanga, Posta, Volna, Peste linie.

The ROMACT Process

ROMACT process started in November 2018 with the signature of a Letter of Agreement.
The First Taskforce meeting took place on 16 April 2019.  
The Taskforce was however institutionalized at a later stage, in June 2019. 
The Local Action Plan for Roma Inclusion (2020-2024) was adopted by the Local Council in January 2020. 

Several trainings were provided:

Local authorities were coached/ trained on:
* Social housing related issues
* Applying for funds under on EAA and Norwegian Grants
* Project management
* Social assistance - working procedures for children with migrant parents
* Accessing structural & cohesion funds
* Partnership management
* Public procurement expert

The following measure to solve problems in Roma community was taken:
* Recruitement of a  Local Expert for Roma issues
