Reghin is a city located in Mureș County, in northern Romania. It administers Apalina and Iernuțeni.
The unofficial number of Roma living in Reghin is about 4 000 inhabitants.
There are seven Roma communities living in different areas: Apalina (3 000 Roma inhabitants), Muncitorilor,Pietroasei, Toamnei, Muncitorilor, Brândusei, Sarii. 

The ROMACT Process

ROMACT process started in Reghin with the signature of the Letter of Agreement. An Action Plan for Roma Inclusion existed already before ROMACT implementation and is updated in cooperation with Community Action Group on a yearly basis. 

Several trainings were provided:

The Local Authorities were coached/trained in:
* Public procurement expert (vocational training)
* Accessing Structural&Cohesion Funds
* Project management

The following measures to solve problems of the Roma community were taken:
* Pavement with gravel of 2 Streets from Apalina Roma community 

The Municipality benefited of ROMACT expertise for the following project:
* Rehabilitation of Kindergarten Spiridusii Veseli - ROP 10.1-

ROMACT Small Grants Scheme

ROMACT offers small grants scheme to support the efforts of the municipalities and Community Action Groups to respond together to the needs of the most vulnerable and to multiply the good practices across ROMACT municipalities.
 
Under the scheme of small grants, the following project was supported by ROMACT between April – October 2020:
Together we act! - Reghin Municipality
ROMACT supported the municipality with 4994 €, reaching 500 vulnerable inhabitants during the first peak of pandemic. The project covered information campaign on COVID19 and provided masks, disinfectant products, informative flyers and first-aid food packages for the vulnerable families with dire financial situation in the community. Telephone consultancy and specialized assistance were also offered to people who are at high risk of health due to COVID19.
