Carei is a city in Satu Mare County, northwestern Romania, near the border with Hungary. According to the 2011 census,  54.8%  of the inhabitants are Hungarian while 2.3% are Roma.
The unofficial number of Roma living in Carei is however higher with about 2000 community members.

The ROMACT Process

ROMACT process started in November 2018 with the signature of the Letter of Agreement.
In Carei, the Taskforce for Roma Inclusion but no formal agreement could be made with the Local Council. 
AS for the Local Action Plan, it was approved in August 2020. 

Several training were provided:

Local Authorities representatives were trained/coached on :
* Project management (vocational training)
* Partnership management
* Expert for accessing structural&cohesion funds
* Public procurement expert*
* Applying for funds under on EAA and Norwegian Grants

The following measures to solve problems in Roma community were taken:
* After School for Roma children
