Lieşti has an administrative surface of 8912 hectares. The municipality is situated at 27 km away from Tecuci, 50 km from Galati and 46 km from Focsani. The main activities that are specific to Liesti municipality are of industrial -agricultural type (more than 70% of occupied population), commerce and services. The local products obtained from agriculture and vegetable farming are sold on the free market in the bigger municipalities from around.
 

The ROMACT Process

In October 2015 Liesti municipality joined the ROMACT program. The Community Action Group (CAG) was created shortly after, identifying its short/medium/long-term needs.
In February 2016, the Taskforce for Roma Inclusion was created following a Local Council Decision. However, the Local Action Plan for Roma was drafted but not adopted by the Local Council.
