Sofia Municipality is an administrative-territorial unit with the status of a region. It encompasses 38 localities, including four cities: Sofia, Bankya, Buhovo, and Novi Iskar, as well as 34 villages. The city of Sofia is divided into 24 districts, each with its own regional mayor and administration. These local administrations are responsible for providing administrative services, development, cleaning, maintenance, and other essential functions.
