Varshets Municipality is located in northwestern Bulgaria and is one of the constituent municipalities of Montana District. The municipality has 10 settlements with a total population of 6927 inhabitants as of September 7, 2022. The largest is the Bulgarian ethnic group with its 82% followed by the Roma by 17.4%. The Roma in Varshets municipality live mainly in the town of Varshets - over 95% of the self -identified as Roma.
