Community trainings have started to ensure ROMACT process sustainability in Romania

A series of Community Action Groups trainings has started in North West Romanian ROMACT municipalities. Community empowerment and mobilisation are the main focus of this activity which started in Tarnaveni on 7th March. In that city, which has the largest Roma population in the county of Mures, representatives from the seven Roma communities shared their perception of what constitutes a developed community. They particularly highlighted the importance of education and schooling. “I was impressed by the exercise” stated Sorin Meghesan, Mayor of Tarnaveni, who attended the training.
These training sessions in the framework of ROMACT are crucial as they will allow for a broader involvement of Roma communities in the local decision-making process and ensure the sustainability of the ROMACT process beyond the project implementation.
