ROMACT organised a national meeting in Bulgaria to address the challenges in planning for Roma inclusion and ensuring dialogue and cooperation at local level, entitled “Mainstreaming Roma Inclusion Issues into Local and Regional Development Policy”. The meeting took place in Sofia on 9 July at the National Palace of Culture.
The event provided an opportunity to discuss, based on the evidence collected from the field by ROMACT experts, the issues encountered at local level with regards to strategic planning and the mainstreaming of social inclusion issues of marginalized Roma communities. This consultation of relevant national and regional stakeholders allowed to identify ways to build local capacities and ensure the inclusiveness of processes when planning and implementing actions addressing Roma communities.
