New ROMACT Support Team trained in Slovakia

Between 4 – 5 October 2016, the ROMACT team in Slovakia – facilitators and the National Project Officer  – as well as municipal representatives from newly selected municipalities followed a coaching session in preparation of the implementation of the Programme.

The new round of municipalities joining ROMACT includes the following locations: Hostice, Kolackov, Lomnicka, Radnovce, Stropkov, Vrbnica, Zbudske Dlhe. All mayors of these additional 7 municipalities in Slovakia signed the Letter of commitment marking the initiation of the first step in the ROMACT methodology.
 
The coaching session benefited from the presence and active implication of Mr Frantisek Racz (Mayor of Hostice), Mr Pavol Zamiska (Mayor of Kolackov) as well as Mr Csaba Horvath (Head of the Municipality Office in Radnovce).
 
Also related to recent developments in Slovakia, the Plenipotentiary of the Government of Slovakia for Roma Communities  showed its support to the ROMACT Approach through the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding with the implementing parties of the programme.
