The second training session of the ROMED Programme on Intercultural Mediation for Roma, Gypsies and Travellers in the UK is being held in Manchester from 25-27 March. Around 25 trainee mediators from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are participating in the session, together with representatives from local, regional and national authorities and NGOs. Organised in cooperation with the Advisory Council for the Education of Romany and other Travellers (ACERT), ROMED National Focal Point for the United Kingdom, this session follows on from the first session held last December. Since then, the UK mediators have been able to put into practice their acquired knowledge and have provided assignments which are an excellent illustration of the distinctive value of intercultural mediation. The photo shows our dedicated group of mediators with their certificates in recognition of their hard work, commitment and fantastic energy.
