Facts

The population of Roma origin living in Slovakia is estimated at 500,000. (Council of Europe, 2010). 87% of them are at risk of poverty compared to 45% of non Roma (UNDP, 2011).
 
In the Slovak Republic, 5 municipalities participated in the ROMACT Programme since 2013: Chminianske Jakubovany,  Jarovnice, Kosice, Michalovce and Ziar Nad Hronom. 
In May 2016,  ROMACT cycle was successfully closed in Chminianske Jakubovany,  Jarovnice, Kosice, Michalovce and Ziar Nad Hronom and interrupted in Kosice.
There are currently no municipality involved in the ROMACT Programme in the Slovak Republic.
