ROMACT achievements in a Snapshot

Since October 2013 until July 2017, ROMACT has been implemented in 115 municipalities, generating over 25 000000 € through inclusive projects for approx. 65 000 beneficiaries, with an average investment of 25 000 € per municipality per year.

ROMACT call for proposal for grants for support organisations in Bulgaria, Italy, Romania and Slovak Republic- Deadline 15 July 2017

Within the framework of the Joint European Commission and Council of Europe ROMACT Project, the Council of Europe is launching a call for proposals for grants.
It aims to co-fund national projects aimed at assisting National Support Teams with the implementation of the ROMACT methodology in the countries below.
The deadline for that call is 15 July 2017.

Call for tenders for consultants in Bulgaria, Italy and Romania- Deadline: 11 May 2017

Within the framework of the Joint European Commission and Council of Europe ROMACT Project, the Council of Europe is organising a call for tenders for consultants in Bulgaria, Italy and Romania.

Consultants will support the implementation of ROMACT Programme by providing consultancy services on various topics:

ROMACT TCC- Transnational Working Visit- ISB e.V.(Dortmund) to Plovdiv

From 13 to 17 March, in the frame of ROMACT Transnational Cooperation Component and Capacity Building (TCC) Programme, a team of 5 representatives of ISB.e.V. – Interessengemeinschaft sozialgewerblicher Beschäftigungsinitiativen from Dortmund, Germany visited Sofia and Plovdiv in Bulgaria for a working visit.  The German delegation first joined the representatives of the National Council for Cooperation on Ethnic and Integration Issues in Sofia to discuss the general framework of Roma policies implementation in Bulgaria. On the 25th September 2012, the Mayor of Maglizh took decisive action to demolish 34 illegal shanty houses.  The Mayor’s justification for the demolition of the homes was that they were built without any regard for municipal regulations and, therefore, put the lives and health of the residents at risk.  The demolition seemingly failed to recognise that the building were the only homes of nearly 200 Roma, half of that number were children.
 

Tundja - Final Meeting and Successful ROMACT Programme Conclusion

Mr. Stancho Stavrev, Deputy Mayor of Tundja, provided an overview of the learning, positive experiences and results of the program. Among these achievements were included: the real improvements in communication and collaboration between the Roma community and local authorities; the inclusion of the community in consultation and decision-making processes; an increase in the capacity and concern of municipal officials with regards to the development of integration policies for the Roma community; an increased interest from the representatives of disadvantaged communities with respect to topics related to intercultural communication, advocacy, marginalization, and the creation and development of NGOs.

Call for tenders for ROMACT National Facilitators in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Italy and Slovak Republic - Deadline - 10 February 2017

Within the framework of the Joint European Commission and Council of Europe ROMACT Project, the Council of Europe is organising a call for tenders for National Facilitators in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Italy and Slovak Republic.
The Facilitator will undertake a facilitating function in relation to the implementation of the project activities at municipal level in his/her respective country. In particular, he/she will act as a conduit between Roma communities on one hand, and the Municipal authorities on the other hand, and will work to ensure effective implementation of activities in one or more municipalities, as applicable.

Call for tenders for ROMACT National Facilitators' Coordinators in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Romania- Deadline- 15 January 2017

In the framework of the Joint European Commission and Council of Europe ROMACT Project, the Council of Europe is organising a call for tenders for National Facilitators’ Coordinators in Bulgaria (2), Czech Republic (1), Hungary (1), Italy (1) and Romania (2).
The National Facilitators’ Coordinator will undertake an organizational and coordination function in relation to the implementation of the ROMACT project activities at local level and will act as a conduit between facilitators on one hand, and the National Project Officer on the other hand, and will work to ensure effective implementation of activities in number of municipalities by facilitators.

Call for tenders for ROMACT National Project Officers in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Romania and the Slovak Republic- Deadline- 08 January 2017

In the framework of the Joint European Commission and Council of Europe ROMACT Project, the Council of Europe is organising a call for tenders for National Project Officers in Bulgaria (1), Czech Republic (1), Hungary(1), Italy (1), Romania (2) and the Slovak Republic (1).
The National Project Officer will undertake a coordination function in relation to the implementation of the ROMACT project and will act as a conduit between national, regional and local authorities on one hand, and the National Focal Point, Facilitators and Roma communities on the other hand, and will work to ensure effective cooperation between these different stakeholders.
